I joined Hallinans as Namita’s Executive Assistant in April 2023. Prior to this I spent a year and a half at STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) as a Senior Executive Officer. There I was responsible for the administration of several groups and their committees that led on niche areas of trusts and estates, such as issues of mental capacity and family businesses. Before that I was employed as a Research Analyst at The Lawyer, a magazine for the legal industry.
While I have spent most of my career working in the shadows of the law, my move to Hallinans was a step into the field itself. I have so far enjoyed interacting with clients, developed an understanding of good practice management and rebranding the firm!
For my undergraduate degree I studied History at the University of Essex, including a year abroad at the University of Windsor in Canada. It was during this year abroad I took a module on historical health practitioners and I discovered my love for the history of medicine. My final year dissertation was based on recreating the soundscape of London during the Great Plague of London in 1665.
I then went on to study an MSc at UCL in the History and Philosophy of Science. I studied science and medicine through the ages, from the ancient civilisations through to modern warfare.
Even though I have finished my studies (for now) I am still keenly interested in all things history. I’m an avid reader and get my kicks through historical fiction, fantasy and the odd political science book. I’m a self-proclaimed ‘star baker’ but I try to counteract this by cycling to the office as often as possible.
