I joined the team at Hallinan’s in October 2024. I qualified as a Solicitor in May 2023, having worked in criminal defence for a significant time prior to beginning my training contract.
I have had a passion for criminal law since a very young age. I am not ashamed to admit that watching the various court-room exchanges pictured in Silk (airing on the BBC in 2011) is what prompted me to consider a career in law. Watching this series at the age of 12 years old later prompted me to visit the Old Bailey, to observe a real-life trial. Whilst I remember being surprised at the much slower pace (and lack of paralegals bursting through the court doors last minute, waving documents holding the key to the defence case!), I felt certain that this was in fact the ideal career for me.
I later read law at the University of Greenwich, and then undertook the Legal Practice Course to qualify as a Solicitor. For both my university education and post-graduate qualification I chose advanced criminal law as an elective subject, giving me a broad and in-depth knowledge of this area. Amongst my qualifications, I obtained duty Solicitor status at 25 years old, which is an achievement I am very proud of given the current average age for duty-qualified Solicitors is currently 49 years old.
Aside from law, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family, who rate my from-scratch beef wellington a 10/10!
